Chris helps companies achieve rapid and sustainable performance improvement. He leads the firm’s transformational M&A work, which helps organizations maximize sustainable, transformational value creation and execute integration activities in M&A deals. Chris also is a leader of the firm’s transformation work for asset-intensive businesses such as energy, metals and mining, and other natural-resources companies; he leads the Transformation Practice for chemicals and agriculture industries.

In designing and leading comprehensive transformations, Chris often serves as full-time chief transformation officer, working directly with and as part of executive leadership teams to achieve significant and sustainable improvements across all value and sustainability levers. His work involves a range of business transformation and change-management topics, including strategy and global energy analytics, business development and emerging market growth, sales and marketing, trading and logistics, supply-chain management, procurement, information technology, and shared services.

Chris holds a doctorate in chemical engineering from UC Santa Barbara. He began his career at McKinsey serving companies in the energy, metals, mining, and chemicals sectors, and later spent a decade in various leadership roles at Peabody Energy, eventually rejoining the firm to help lead its transformation work.

In addition to his work at McKinsey, Chris serves on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations, including the Sheldon Arts Foundation and St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where he serves on the executive committee and chairs the patient care committee.
