Yusuke is a core leader of the McKinsey’s Life Sciences Practice in Japan and across Asia. He advises global and domestic pharmaceutical and medical-device companies, helping across a broad range of topics with a specific focus on corporate strategy, globalization, commercial transformation, and capability building.

Examples of Yusuke’s previous work include the following:

  • supporting a global pharmaceutical company on reshaping its brand strategy for its top brand by reinvestigating its customer engagement model, which included sales force allocation, targeting, and digitalization
  • supporting a domestic medical-devices company on its corporate strategy refresh with specific focus on improving topline growth
  • helping various pharmaceutical and medical-device companies develop and implement market-entry and brand growth strategies in Japan and Asia
  • helping an iconic medical-devices company transform its overall business and operations to achieve substantial improvement on growth and profitability

Outside his client work, Yusuke devotes his time to people development, recruiting, and capability building. He is a leader in McKinsey’s Diversity & Inclusion group, and also leads recruitment of women and new graduates. He also champions office learning initiatives.
